West Bengal Police has arrested Mabud Ali, the main accused in the alleged suicide case of BJP MLA Debendra Nath Roy. The CID and the police have made these arrests in connection with the incident in Hemtabad, North Dinajpur. Mabud Ali was arrested from Chanchal in Malda, who was arrested from Panchanandpur under Mothabari police station. He was preparing to run to Jharkhand.
Now Mabud Ali is being brought to Raiganj. Police said that Mabud Ali had been staying with his relatives in Kallput village in Babla since July 15. Earlier another accused was arrested from Malda. When Ali was arrested, he was preparing to leave Jharkhand by boat. Earlier, CID arrested another accused Niloy Sinha.
Niloy Sinha and Mabood Ali were arrested on the basis of the statement of wife of BJP MLA Debendra Nath Roy. When Mabud was going to Kasimbazar by bike, he was arrested. The body of the MLA was found hanging near a tea shop on 13 July. After this, criticism of Mamta Banerjee started.
Debendra Nath Roy won the elections on the CPM ticket in the 2016 assembly elections. He won from Hemtabad in North Dinajpur. He had also registered a hat-trick victory for CPM in Gram Panchayat elections. He helped many people in the village financially with the help of cooperative society. He took BJP membership in Delhi in 2019. The legislator’s wife and former panchayat chief Chandima Roy also feared the murder of her husband.
After this, the West Bengal Police shared some more information related to this case on its Twitter account. According to the information given in the tweet, a suicide note has been found from the pocket of the shirt of Debendra Nath Roy. In which the names of two people responsible for the murder were revealed.
The West Bengal Police said that all necessary steps are being taken to investigate the death of MLA Debendra Nath Roy, the help of forensic experts was taken on the spot and the tracker dogs were also released.
