Gairsain officially becomes Summer Capital Of Uttarakhand
On 8th June Gairsan officially declared as the new summer capital of Uttarakahnd. Governor Baby Rani Maurya gave her nod to the state government’s move declaring Gairsain or Bhararisen as the new summer capital of the state.
Chief Secretary Utpal Kumar Singh shared the notification stated. “The Governor is hereby pleased to give her assent for declaration of Bhararisen (Gairsain), district Chamoli as the summer capital of Uttarakhand state,” the notification reads.
Garhwal and Kumaon are two regions of Uttarakhand, with a total of 13 districts, the demand for the capital Gairsain began in the late 1990’s by the Uttarakhand Kranti Dal, who is one of the biggest contributor in making Uttarakahd a state.
