Due to the India-China border dispute, a campaign of Boycott China started in the country. From film stars to politicians and well known music artists also joined the voice of the public in this campaign. Taking concrete steps at the right time, the government also banned 59 apps from China that were trying to gather intelligence through the app. This move of the government is also being praised, but some people have objections in every right step as always.
The 30-year-old actress and Trinamool Congress MP Nusrat Jahan has also objected to the government’s decision. Nusrat Jahan on Wednesday called the Centre’s decision to ban China’s 59 apps, including Tiktok, a “fraudulent and inconclusive decision”. She said that the government should give an Indian alternative to these apps, because they have many people’s livelihoods attached to them.
She compared the ban on tik tok to demonetization and said,”People should not suffer by this ban like they experienced after demonetisation.” She further said,”TikTok is like other social media platforms for me to connect with my fans and audience. If it is in the national interest, I fully support the ban. But the central government’s ban on certain Chinese apps is only a fraud and an impulsive decision. ” It seems like tiktok is more important for her than national interest.
