Hearing the name of Maharana Pratap of Mewar, the Mughal King Akbar trembled with fear

India has produced such fierce warriors that when the enemies heard their names, they would tremble with fear. Today, the pseudo-historians have distorted the history by saying that Mughul kings including Akbar were “The Great” and their neighboring Hindu kings were scared of them. But did you know that Akbar was trembling with fear when he used to hear the name of that particular Hindu warrior.

So who is that brave warrior who managed to destroy the sleep of Akbar, even though the Mughals had captured most part of India?

Have you heard of a warrior who was 7 feet 5 inches tall, carrying an 80-kilogram spear and two swords weighing around a total of 208 kilograms, and would wear an armour weighing 72 kilograms. No?

Well, India had witnessed such a warrior and he is none other than Maharana Pratap of Mewar.

It is often said that Maharana Pratap lost to Akbar in the battle of Haldighati. But this is not the reality as the battle of Haldighati was won by Maharana Pratap. Today I’ll say you one chapter from history that will describe the bravery of Maharana Pratap.

It is an unwritten truth that Hindustan came under the control of Islamic invaders and the British only because few of the Hindustanis had cheated their motherland. This is one such story where Maharana Pratap was deceived by one of his men and his name was Man Singh who had joined the Mughals.

Now the aim of Maharana Pratap was to eliminate the traitor Man Singh but it was not easy. It’s because the Army of Maharana Pratap was totally outnumbered in comparison with the Mughals.

Battle of Haldighati

Man Singh was guarded by the soldiers of Akbar who were shouting several slogans to boost their men’s morale. The men guarding Man Singh were in hundreds but it didn’t stop Maharana Pratap from advancing towards his target.

With every passing seconds, the head of the Mughals was rolling on the floor and it was just one man, Maharana Pratap, who was slaying them. And then came the final encounter when Maharana Pratap had to face Behlol Khan, who was the commander of Mughals.

Note that Behlol Khan was one of the mightiest fighters of those time and he had previously killed several men of Maharana Pratap in battles. But the unexpected took place. Yes, Maharana Pratap sliced the head of Behlol Khan, his swordsman and the horse in a single strike. Such was the strength and battle skills of Maharana Pratap.

But few of the distorted history books claim that Maharana Pratap was defeated by Mughal King Akbar in the battle of Haldighati. But in reality, it was Maharana Pratap of Mewar who had defeated Akbar, even though his Army was very small when compared to Akbar.

Though centuries of history was unfair to Maharana Pratap, the Rajasthan government when BJP was in power, reinstated the original history in the textbooks that said Maharana Pratap had defeated Akbar.

Dr Chandrashekhar Sharma, a professor at Udaipur’s government Meera Kanya Mahavidyalaya had published a finding. For a year after June 18, 1576 battle, Maharana Pratap distributed land in villages near Haldighati by handing out land rights inscribed on copper plates that have the signature of the diwan of Eklingnath, states the findings of Dr. Sharma after he scrutinized the land records from the 16th century.

Dr Sharma also states that after the Battle of Haldighati, two Mughal generals, Man Singh and Asif Khan, were forbidden from entering Emperor Akbar’s darbar. This is enough to prove that Maharana Pratap of Mewar had defeated Akbar in the battle of Haldighati fought on 18 June 1576.
