Himachal Pradesh Police Headquarter sealed, feared Coronavirus
The Himachal Pradesh Police Headquarters was sealed on Tuesday due to fear of Corona virus infection and Director General of Police (DGP) Sanjay Kundu and 28 other officers have gone into self-isolation. Significantly, a person had recently met the police chief and this person later died due to corona virus infection.
A senior official said that according to the test report of DGP Kundu and 27 officers, there was no infection in them. IGMC Senior Medical Superintendent Janak Raj said that 29 samples were sent from the Police Headquarters to Indira Gandhi Medical College (IGMC). He said that after testing 28 samples including DGP, it was found that there were no infections while one sample was inconclusive which needs to be re-examined. Police spokesman Khushal Sharma said that on June 1, when the DGP took charge, a person came to the police headquarters to congratulate him and meet him.
He said that the police headquarters has been sealed and is being made infection-free. He told that the person had gone to Delhi after meeting the DGP. Police, however, did not say whether the person was from Delhi or Himachal Pradesh.
