India overtakes Italy to become sixth most affected by Covid-19, cases exceeded 2.36 lakhs

India has overtaken Italy to become the sixth country in the world worst affected by the Corona virus global epidemic. The number of cases of Covid-19 has increased to 2,36,657 with 9,887 new patients appearing in the country in the last 24 hours.

In India, 294 patients succumbed to corona virus in the last 24 hours till 8 am Saturday, after which the death toll has risen to 6,642. According to data from Johns Hopkins University of America, India has now come on sixth place in the list of countries most affected by Corona virus after America, Brazil, Russia, Spain and Britain.

The Union Health Ministry said that 1,15,942 infected patients are undergoing treatment in the country, while 1,14,072 people have recovered and one patient has gone out of the country. A senior health ministry official said, “48.20 percent of the patients have recovered so far.”

Foreign citizens are also involved in cases of infection. Since Friday morning, 294 people have died so far, out of which 139 have died in Maharashtra. 58 in Delhi, 35 in Gujarat, 12-12 in Tamil Nadu and Uttar Pradesh, 11 in West Bengal, eight in Telangana, seven in Madhya Pradesh, five in Rajasthan, two in Andhra Pradesh and Jammu and Kashmir, Odisha, Punjab, Jharkhand and One patient has died in Uttarakhand. So far 6,642 people have died due to this dangerous virus in the country. The highest number of these deaths was 2,849 in Maharashtra. It was followed by 1,190 in Gujarat, 708 in Delhi, 384 in Madhya Pradesh, 366 in West Bengal, 257 in Uttar Pradesh, 232 in Tamil Nadu, 218 in Rajasthan, 113 in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh.
