Samajwadi Party (SP) president Akhilesh Yadav has said that his party is with the migrant laborers in difficult times and the party will help them to their fullest potential. Akhilesh said on Thursday that all the migrant workers who had lost employment due to the lockdown were returning to their homes after facing heavy difficulties. SP was ready for his help from the beginning and they are still ready for this work. He said that we are doing as much as we could for migrant workers and common people in this era of Corona epidemic. Apart from this, party workers and leaders are also helping people from their level. It is not a favor but a duty. The party will continue to help the workers to their fullest potential.
“Meanwhile, a senior party leader told that the SP president helped the families of migrant workers killed in accidents while returning to their homes in lock-down. The party has so far distributed Rs 50 lakh to 45 families. He told that the party has given a support of one lakh rupees to the girl Jyoti Kumari, who is sitting on a bicycle for 1200 km from Gurgaon to Darbhanga in Bihar. At the same time, an amount of one lakh rupees has also been provided to a pregnant migrant worker named Raja Beti in Lalitpur.
The leader said that the party has given assistance of Rs 50,000 to the parents of a boy named ‘Border’ born in No Man’s Land on the Indo-Nepal border in Bahraich. SP’s national spokesperson Rajendra Chaudhary said that migrant laborers are in greatest need of financial help at this time and the government should put a satisfactory amount of money in their empty pockets so that they can live. The SP has stood with the poor in difficult times before and will stand further.
