Haridwar schools asked for more fees, fined 1-1 lakh, Recognition Cancelled

In the Corona era, the Uttarakhand government has made a rule not to pressurize parents for fees in private schools. Only schools that teach online are allowed to charge tuition fees. But even after this, schools are pressurizing people to pay fees. Many private schools are charging other fees as well like sports besides tuition fees. Haridwar District Education Officer has taken a tough decision regarding this. This decision can be a lesson for private schools across the state. On the complaint of fee collection, the Chief Education Officer of Haridwar has imposed a fine of Rs one lakh on two public schools in the district. The recognition of a school was abolished apart from this, notices have been issued to 15 schools seeking answers. Action will also be taken on these schools if the notice is not answered.

In view of the deteriorating economic situation in the Coronas, the government had asked public schools to charge only tuition fees. There was also a rule that unnecessary pressure should not be made on anyone for the collection of fees. Public schools, bypassing the government’s orders, and putting pressure on parents to deposit fees by sending SMS on mobiles. Many such cases have also been in the headlines earlier as well.

The Chief Education Officer’s office in Haridwar received 28 complaints about non-payment of salaries to teachers of private schools, with fees being collected during the period so far of the Corona period. Chief Education Officer Dr. Anand Bhardwaj said that the complaint related to the salary of teachers has been resolved. Some school management has given an assurance in writing that they will not ask for the fees, and those schools who have not replied to the notice have been fined one lakh each. The recognition of a school has been terminated for one school in Haridwar.
