Tik Tok: America is going to ban it today

While returning from a trip to Florida, Trump told reporters on his plane, Air Force One, “As far as Tik Tok is concerned, we are going to ban them in the United States”.

He said that he can use his Emergency Economic Rights or an Executive Order for this.

This step of America can prove to be a huge blow to TiKTok’s parent, ByteDance.

US security officials had expressed concern about the security of personal data of people in this app.

Earlier, the Indian government had also banned similar apps on dozens of Chinese applications, including TiK Tok, last month.

President Trump’s remarks come at a time when there are reports that Chinese company ByteDance is being asked to sell TiKTok.

There are also reports that software company Microsoft is showing interest to buy this app.

TiKTok has issued a statement in this regard saying – We do not comment on rumors and speculation, we believe in the long-term success of TiKTok

Bytdance launched TiKTok in the year 2017. He then purchased a video service called Musicaly, which was very popular among the youth in America and Europe.
