Uttarakhand government is going to start Chardham Yatra from 1st July. However, this journey will start only at the state level. That is, devotees from Uttarakhand only will get a chance to join the Chardham Yatra. Preparations are also going on at the government level for this.
Chief Minister Trivendra Rawat said, “Now the government has to decide on this. At present, this journey will be started at the state level itself. “Let us tell you that earlier the Chardham Yatra was opened at the local level, now it is being opened at the state level.
Acharya Shiv Prasad Mamgain, vice-chairman of the Chardham Development Council, demanded that the people of the hilly state to be allowed to begin the yatra from July 1. Together with Chief Minister Trivendra Rawat, he had earlier sought to start the journey from the hill districts, leaving the four plains districts.
Mamgain had asked the Chief Minister to allow Chardham Yatra to all the districts except Dehradun, Haridwar, Udham Singh Nagar, Nainital. Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat talked to all the parties and assured them to take a concrete decision soon.
