Vikas Dubey, a history-sheeter behind 60 criminal cases

Eight policemen, including the CO, were killed in a fierce firing at a police team that went to Kanpur late night to catch the notorious history sheeter Vikas Dubey. After this gruesome incident, the opponents bombarded the attacks against Yogi government.

Former Uttar Pradesh CM Akhilesh Yadav termed the Yogi government as a “Rogi government.” As soon as the Chief Minister came to know about this incident on Friday morning, he himself decided to go to Kanpur.
Prior to this, he has posted other senior police officers including DGP in Kanpur.Yogi has adopted a strict attitude, saying that this police team will not return from Kanpur until Vikas Dubey is caught or shot dead. It is being said, “Two miscreants have also been shot”, in a statement released by the police.

The weapons of the martyred police personnel are also said to be recovered from the killed miscreants. The criminals have openly challenged the zero tolerance policy of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, After which Yogi has shown very strict attitude. Some of the accused are still away from the police. They are also being searched by the STF. Significantly,The police team had gone late on Thursday night to catch Vikas Dubey, a history sheeter living in the village of Dikaru of Chaubepur police station. Dubey has 60 criminal cases registered. As the police team reached the hideout of Dubey, suddenly a fire started from the roof and Deputy Superintendent of Police Devendra Mishra, three sub-inspectors and four constables died in the shootout.It is being speculated that Vikas Dubey enjoys the patronage of the leaders of previous governments.

His business included extortion and even a hotel business in major cities in Uttar Pradesh such as Lucknow, Gorakhpur, and Kanpur. He is especially known in Kanpur both urban and rural areas for extortion of industrialists.

He is also a Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) leader and was also a party of the zila panchayat.
